Downtown Denver is fairly easily negotiated on foot, with the occasional help of the very regular free buses that run for a mile up and down the 16th Street pedestrian mall at its heart (daily 6am1am). RTD buses (MonFri 69am & 46pm, $1.25; other times 75), with frequent services to Boulder, sports arenas and the airport, leave from the underground Market Street Station at Market and 16th streets. They are supplemented by a light rail tram line that runs five miles through downtown from I-25 and Broadway, across the 16th Street mall and up to Five Points in the northeast (same fares as buses). From June to September, you can also buy a hop-on, hop-off day pass on the Cultural Connection Trolley (every 30min 9.30am10pm; $3), which links Denver's main points of interest. For information and detailed schedules of the entire RTD network, call 303/299-6000 or visit www.rtd-denver.com .
